Michael A. Wichterich

Chairman of the Board

Mr. Wichterich serves as Chair of Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors. He previously served as Chair of Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors since 2021 and served as the Company’s interim Chief Executive Officer from April to October 2021. Mr. Wichterich is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Three Rivers Operating Company LLC, a private exploration and production company with a focus in the Permian Basin. Prior to founding Three Rivers Operating, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Texas American Resources, New Braunfels Utilities and Mariner Energy (NYSE: ME). Mr. Wichterich began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in its energy auditing practices. He has served as a board member of Sabine Oil and Gas, Grizzly Energy, Bruin E&P Operating, and Extraction Oil and Gas (NASDAQ: XOG).

Mr. Wichterich earned a B.B.A. from the University of Texas.

Domenic J. Dell’Osso, Jr.

President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Dell’Osso serves as President, Chief Executive Officer, and on the Board of Directors at Expand Energy Corporation, having previously held the same positions at Chesapeake Energy Corporation since October 2021. Mr. Dell’Osso joined Chesapeake in 2008 where he served in leadership roles of increasing responsibility including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2010 to 2021. Before joining Chesapeake, he was an energy investment banker with both Jefferies & Co. and Banc of America Securities. Mr. Dell’Osso currently serves on the board of Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the American Exploration and Production Council (AXPC).

Mr. Dell’Osso earned a B.A. in Economics from Boston College and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Timothy S. Duncan

Board Member

Mr. Duncan serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as a member of Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors since February 2021. Mr. Duncan is a founder of Talos Energy Inc. (NYSE: TALO) and served as its President, Chief Executive Officer, and a director from April 2012 to August 2024. Prior to Talos Energy, he was the Senior Vice President of Business Development and a founder of Phoenix Exploration Company LP. Mr. Duncan serves on various academically focused boards, including the College of Engineering Dean’s Advisory Council and the Foundation Board at Mississippi State University. He also served as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA).

Mr. Duncan earned a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State University and an M.B.A. from the Bauer Executive Program at the University of Houston.

Benjamin C. Duster, IV

Board Member

Mr. Duster serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as a member of Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors since February 2021. Mr. Duster also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Weatherford International, plc. (NASDAQ: WFRD). His extensive experience also includes service on the boards of Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALSK), Netia, S.A. (Warsaw Stock Exchange: NET), RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: RCN) and Multi-Fineline Electronics (NASDAQ: MFLX). Mr. Duster is Founder and CEO of Cormorant IV Corporation, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in operational turnarounds and organizational transformations. He is a 30-year veteran of Wall Street with extensive experience in M&A and Strategic Advisory Services in both developed and emerging markets.

Mr. Duster earned a B.A. in Economics, with honors, from Yale University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Sarah A. Emerson

Board Member

Ms. Emerson serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as a member of Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors since February 2021. She is a founding partner of Energy Security Analysis, Inc. (ESAI), an energy market research and forecasting firm. In 2009, Ms. Emerson formed ESAI Energy, LLC, where she now serves as President. The firm manages the petroleum, alternative fuels and green energy research and consulting business of ESAI. She also formed ESAI Power, LLC, which consults on electricity markets.

Ms. Emerson was a Key Women in Energy – 2004 Global Honoree and a Key Women in Energy – 2004 Americas Honoree. She has been a Senior Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and an Adjunct Professor at the Fletcher School at Tufts University. Ms. Emerson is currently a Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). She also serves on the board of Anbaric Development Partners, a private transmission development company.

Ms. Emerson earned an M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies and a B.A. in Government from Cornell University.

Matt M. Gallagher

Board Member

Mr. Gallagher serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as a member of Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors since February 2021. He is Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Greenlake Energy, LLC and is a Venture Partner at NGP Energy Capital. Mr. Gallagher also serves on the board of Workrise and the non-profit board of American Printing House for the Blind. He served on the board of Pioneer Natural Resources (NYSE: PXD) prior to its acquisition by ExxonMobil in 2024. Previously, Mr. Gallagher served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Parsley Energy Inc. (NYSE: PE), which he joined in 2010 and helped lead through its IPO in 2014 and subsequently helped negotiate its sale to Pioneer in 2021. Before joining Parsley, Mr. Gallagher spent five years at Pioneer in various engineering and financial roles. Mr. Gallagher also serves on the board of Workrise and the non-profit board of American Printing House for the Blind.

Mr. Gallagher earned a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.

John D. Gass

Board Member

Mr. Gass serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as a member of Southwestern Energy Company’s Board of Directors since 2012. Mr. Gass retired from Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) in 2012 where he served as Corporate Vice President and President, Chevron Gas & Midstream. He began his career in 1974 in Chevron’s Gulf of Mexico business unit in New Orleans, and over the next 38 years held positions of increasing responsibility, including heading the company’s exploration and production operations in southern Africa and in Australia and Papua New Guinea. Mr. Gass served as a director of Sasol Chevron Holdings Ltd and GS Caltex Corporation. He also served as a director of Weatherford International, Ltd. from 2013 through 2019 and a director of Suncor Energy Inc. from 2014 through 2022.

Mr. Gass earned a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University and an M.E. in Civil Engineering from Tulane University.

S.P. “Chip” Johnson IV

Board Member

Mr. Johnson serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as a member of Southwestern Energy Company’s Board of Directors since 2020. He has 40 years of onshore exploration and production experience. After 15 years at Shell Oil Company, Mr. Johnson founded Carrizo Oil & Gas (NASDAQ: CRZO) in 1993 and served as President and Chief Executive Officer until its merger with Callon Petroleum (NYSE: CPE) in 2019. From 2019 to 2022, he served on the board of Callon. Additionally, Mr. Johnson has served on the boards of Basic Energy Services and Pinnacle Gas Resources.

Mr. Johnson earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado and is a Registered Petroleum Engineer.

Catherine A. Kehr

Board Member

Ms. Kehr serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as Chair of Southwestern Energy Company’s Board of Directors since 2016 and as a member since 2011. Ms. Kehr retired in 2006 as a Senior Vice President and Director of Capital Research Company, a division of The Capital Group Companies. In this role, she was responsible for investment analysis and a portfolio manager of global energy equities. Ms. Kehr was also an investment analyst and portfolio manager with the company with responsibility for global energy high yield debt. Before her tenure with The Capital Group Companies, she held various managerial positions at Atlantic Richfield Company and Payden and Rygel. In 2002, the Reuters Survey ranked Ms. Kehr among the top 10 individual U.S. fund managers. She was a director of California Resources Corporation (NYSE: CRC) from February 2015 through May 2017.

Ms. Kehr earned a B.A. with honors from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a CFA chartholder.

Shameek Konar

Board Member

Mr. Konar serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as a member of Southwestern Energy Company’s Board of Directors since 2023. He is Partner and Head of Ara Energy Decarbonization, a private equity fund focused on the acquisition, operations and decarbonization of conventional energy assets. Prior, Mr. Konar served as Chief Executive Officer of Pilot Company, the largest supplier of transportation fuels in the U.S. Before joining Pilot, Mr. Konar served as Chief Investment Officer, Global Head of Business Development, of Castleton Commodities International (CCI). From 2012 to 2015, he served as the Chief Investment Officer and member of the Management Committee of Mercuria Energy Group. During his tenure at both CCI and Mercuria, Mr. Konar oversaw mergers, acquisitions and operations of physical assets, including oil and gas production, ports, power plants and mines, across each firm’s commodities merchant platforms globally. Prior, Mr. Konar served as Managing Director and Co-Head Global Commodities and Principal Investing of Goldman Sachs Group. From 2003 to 2009, he worked at Constellation Energy Group in various roles of increasing responsibility. Mr. Konar began his career in consulting at PA Consulting and subsequently Accenture.

Mr. Konar earned a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College.

Brian Steck

Board Member

Mr. Steck serves on Expand Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors, having previously served as a member of Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Board of Directors since February 2021. Mr. Steck is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Office of WhiteOwl Energy, LLC. Until August 2020, Mr. Steck served as a Partner at Mangrove Partners, where he had worked since 2011. Previously, Mr. Steck was a Partner and Head of U.S. Equities at Tisbury Capital, and a Partner at K Capital Partners. Earlier in his career, he spent ten years at UBS (NYSE: UBS) and its predecessors, where he was Global Co-Head of Equity Hedge Fund Coverage. Mr. Steck previously served on the Board of Directors of Civitas Resources, Inc. (NYSE: CIVI) and as Chairman of its predecessor, Bonanza Creek Energy, Inc. (NYSE: BCEI). He also served on the board of California Resources Corporation (NYSE: CRC) and Penn Virginia Corporation (NASDAQ: PVAC) (later known as Ranger Oil Corporation before its acquisition by Baytex Energy Corp.).

Mr. Steck received a B.S., with the highest honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
