Expand Energy is committed to supporting the Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) Foundation for three years, funding scholarships for students pursuing degrees in Industrial Engineering Technology, Advanced Welding, and Oil & Gas Technology. This year, Expand Energy provided scholarships to 14 students, continuing a relationship with the college initiated by Southwestern Energy.
“Expand Energy is proud to collaborate with BPCC, recognizing their commitment to providing essential and innovative education in STEM-related fields,” said Michelle Cavanaugh, Expand Energy Community Relations Manager in the Haynesville. “We look forward to continuing the foundation laid by Southwestern and investing in both Northwest Louisiana and the future of our energy workforce.”
In addition to funding scholarships, Expand Energy also considers BPCC students for paid internships and actively participates in the college’s Advisory Board and Employer Night events. The company’s partnership with BPCC strengthens the connection between education and workforce needs, helping to prepare students for their careers. Additionally, Expand Energy is excited to welcome fall 2024 BPCC graduate, Kevin Rivera, to the company full-time.
“Expand Energy’s long-standing commitment to BPCC and our students plays a pivotal role in shaping the future workforce of Northwest Louisiana, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued generosity,” said Joseph Brownlee, Dean of BPCC’s Division of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. “Together, we are empowering the next generation of industry leaders and ensuring a modern, skilled workforce for our region and state.”
